Nail'd is another representative of the arcade racing genre, reminiscent of Pure and the MX vs. ATV series. In the game, we have at our disposal a dozen or so different machines, with which we can overcome each of the routes prepared by the creators. The latter - next to speed - are the biggest attraction of Nail'd. Not only are they designed to allow for the most effective rides, but their construction also encourages the use of a multitude of shortcuts and alternative routes.
There are so many alternative solutions on the routes that the authors were forced to give up the mini map, because it would not be legible enough. Instead, they offered a slightly different system of orientation in the field. At the bottom of the screen there is information about the distance separating us from the finish line. Thanks to this procedure, each ride can be unique, which results from the desire to search for an increasingly better route to the destination.
The tracks are filled with huge jumps, obstacles, and various events (such as falling boulders, landing Boeings, chainsaws, devastating tornadoes, etc.), which means that the competition has little to do with realism.
Nail'd has been divided into several standard game modes. They include Career, Time Trial, and a multiplayer option (via the Network, with twelve people competing at the same time). Techland's production also includes several interesting additions to diversify the fun, including a ranking of the best players, an extensive replay system, and the ability to view statistics while loading subsequent races.
The game includes a standard boost bar for this type of game, which increases the maximum speed of the quad or motorcycle. It is charged by performing simple tricks. The creators also decided to introduce to Nail'd the possibility of influencing the appearance of the driver and his machine, which can be additionally tuned (change the suspension, a different type of tire, a modified exhaust system, etc.). Individual options and additions are unlocked as you progress in single and multiplayer modes.
Nail'd is powered by the Chrome Engine, which was also used to design Call of Juarez: Blood Ties. It provides not only high-quality graphics (including beautiful views), but also appropriate physics of the game world. The engine allows for complete destruction of vehicles and offers variable weather conditions.
