World Basketball Manager Tycoon is a proposal from the Greek studio Icehole Games addressed to fans of sports managers in a somewhat casual edition. The production is an extension of the World Basketball Manager series.

The player takes on the role of a manager and owner of a fictional basketball team. His task is to manage the development of the club both in the sports and financial sphere. This requires, among other things, acquiring the most talented basketball players, imposing training regimes, establishing match tactics, negotiating contracts with sponsors, and expanding infrastructure.

The gameplay is based on mechanisms known from previous installments of the World Basketball Manager series. The novelties introduced in WBM Tycoon are primarily the ability to build club facilities that allow for increasing revenues (e.g. a café, restaurant, boutique) or improving the functioning of certain sections (youth school, medical center, training center and others), challenges from sponsors, the option of motivational bonuses for players, as well as an expanded team statistics system. The creators, however, gave up on elements such as managing national teams and an international career.

The database included in the game includes over 100 national and global leagues, over 1,000 club names and 12,500 names of basketball players from 194 countries. All information can be modified and updated using the easy-to-use editor.

Compared to previous WBM games, World Basketball Manager Tycoon features more casual visuals with two-dimensional cartoon-style graphics. However, the game is still based on text (charts, statistics, analyses, etc.), and the illustrations that appear are mainly decorative.
