Xotic is a purely arcade-style FPS inspired by arcade shooters, where the only thing that matters is joyful deliberation and racking up points. This is the debut production of the independent studio WXP Games.

The game doesn't try to tell any kind of sensible story. As a warrior armed with a symbiotic weapon known as Macroterra, you must clear the planet's surface of the minions of a creature named Orb, and then plant seeds that will repopulate the surface with life. Narrative screens appear between missions, but they have they are humorous and very crazy cutscenes and do not offer any coherent story.

The gameplay is divided into a number of levels and on each of them our task is to achieve as many points as possible. We get these by killing monsters, but simply shooting them is not enough to get a high score. Fortunately, on each map there are red corners arranged with strings, which, when hit, explode in a spectacular chain reaction. Such explosions fill us a „terramorphing„ bar, the high enough level of which can increase the number of points we get several times over. Apart from corners and enemies, the levels are filled with items that provide various bonuses, as well as crystals that extend the flight of characters jumping over them.

The locations prepared by the creators have a very complicated structure and hide many secrets. The final result also includes the time needed to complete the map - the lower the better. All this means that the levels can be completed completed in many ways and a large part of the fun is trying to discover the most effective way to complete them. The fun is additionally made more attractive by the system of improving weapons and acquiring new skills. Our achievements are published in the online ranking, and the presence of players with better records on it motivates to constantly improve their own results. Unfortunately, no other form of competition with other people is provided.

Xotic has a colorful graphics in a slightly psychedelic atmosphere. The maps literally attack the eyesight with a feast of colors, and the crazy lighting effects can almost blind the player.
