Spellcrafter is a dark fantasy RPG game enriched with a tactical, turn-based combat system and a unique way of casting spells. It was created by the independent local studio Jujubee, known for its futuristic Flashout races and a number of mobile productions.
In the game, we play as a character representing one of three races: human, necromancer or elf and set out to explore a fantasy world full of magic to collect experience and gold, interact with NPCs and complete various quests, often requiring difficult moral choices. During the game, we gradually build an increasingly stronger team, recruiting various heroes with different skills. The fight against the monsters you encounter takes place in a turn-based system, in which a lot of emphasis is placed on tactical depth and strategic elements.
In the course of the game, it turns out that by deciding to help an unknown and mysterious girl, we unknowingly contribute to saving the world. The game is divided into 3 acts, each of which is part of a larger story, telling about the nature of things, power and morality. Each act additionally consists of 3 different levels, taking place in different locations and sceneries.
A characteristic feature of the game is the unique system of casting spells. We use them by making gestures with the mouse cursor on the screen, corresponding to individual spells. The power of the spell and the effect it will have on our opponent depend on the speed and accuracy of the gesture.
The action of the game is observed in a top-down view, reminiscent of typical modern hack'n'slash productions. The fights and spells are accompanied by colorful flashes and special effects.
